To meet the Government of Dubai’s objective of producing 1000 MW of electricity through the use of renewable, photovoltaic technology by 2030, DEWA commissioned the building of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This consists of a solar power generation plant built on a 285,000m2 plot. The site is mainly occupied by photovoltaic panels and a few support building. The project will generate 24 million kWh of electricity per year, saving 15,000 metric tonnes of CO2 per year.

The Al Wakrah Bypass consists of an 11km south-north freeway with five interchanges. The project connects with the East-West Corridor in the north and Qatar Economic Zone 3 in the south intersecting the Wukair Road and Mesaieed Road.

In 2011, WSP| Parsons Brinckerhoff was appointed as the Strategic Program Manager by Qatar Rail Company to provide planning, procurement, design, construction, risk and quality management.
