Our approach

Since 2004, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has been providing consultancy services on this vital transmission line, which will take power from Beauly in the Highlands to the central and southern Lowlands.

As environmental consultant on the project, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff played a crucial role in securing planning permission, contributing not only to the environmental impact assessment but GIS analysis, geotechnical advice, noise and vibration assessment and transport appraisal, and acting as expert witness at a 12-month public inquiry, the longest in Scottish history.

One of the most important parts of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s role is to support the client and contractor in their environmental management of the project, to minimise disruption to the natural landscapes the line will pass through.

The team has now been appointed to advise SHETL throughout construction and site restoration, which is expected to take place over the next four years.
