Integrating The Korean and Canadian P3 Markets

On 4 March 2016, the Embassy of Canada in Seoul and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea hosted a first-of-its-kind event to discuss the landscape of public-private partnerships in Canada, and how Korean companies can get involved.

The meeting included presentations from government officials, along with private sector business leaders involved in the P3 marketplace. As a leader of P3 projects in Canada and around the world, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff provided a technical overview about how P3 projects differ from Canada and Korea, and how to successfully deliver them.

The presentation was delivered by Randy Simes, Senior Planner for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in Korea, who has worked on P3 projects in both North America and Asia.

Canada has long been a global leader in the use of P3 projects, and following the enactment of the Canada–South Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA), there is growing interest in such partnerships between the two countries.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is a founding member of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships and has worked on numerous projects throughout North America. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in Korea, meanwhile, has worked with private sector investors on some of the highest profile infrastructure projects in the country.

Through this combined experienced and global leadership in P3 project delivery, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s clients are ensured the highest quality technical support on their projects anywhere in the world.
