Altares Sweet Gas Plant Expansion, British Columbia

Planning, Design, Tendering, Construction Supervision and Project Management.

Client: Cambrian Energy

Our client’s challenge

As part of Cambrian’s field infrastructure in the Montney region of Northeast British Columbia, the refrigeration facility lowers operation costs and reduces the reliance on third parties. With an existing compressor station at this location, Cambrian’s plant expansion allows them to significantly increase their overall throughput capacity to 50 MMcf per day of raw gas. This will generate additional revenue streams through the recovery of LPG products and reduce processing costs by generating sales quality gas and stabilized condensate.

Our approach

WSP designed, constructed and completed all the regulatory services for this project. This included compressors, a hydrocarbon dew-point recovery plant that cooled the gas, as well as storage capacity for over 21,000 bbls, and 2400 kW in power generation. The scope also included water, inlet and sales gas pipelines to the facility.

Outcome

The $32 million project was successfully completed in 2012.
