Dieppe Drainage Improvements, City of Regina

WSP provided engineering services for a Drainage Study of Master Plan Drainage Area No. 15.

Client: City of Regina

Our client’s challenge

This project was a component of Regina’s long range master plan to review the performance of the drainage and sewer systems throughout the City.

Our approach

A staged upgrading program was developed, and included scheduling of improvements based on priority, along with associated estimated costs of implementation.  A public involvement program was conducted to receive public input, and to inform property owners of the upgrade options available prior to completion of the study.

Following the study, WSP carried out pre-design, detailed design and construction supervision services for the following improvements:

  • Phase 1:  RCMP site detention pond and drainage, Wascana Creek dyke upgrade and drainage improvement along Courtney Street.
  • Phase 2:  AE Wilson Park detention pond, new storm trunks east and west of McCarthy Boulevard, a new storm pump station, and reconstruction of the Kent Street domestic lift station, and further improvements to the Wascana Creek dyke.

AE Wilson Park Detention Pond – pond is designed so soccer field is useable in all but the 1:100 year storm conditions.

AE Wilson Park Detention Pond: Memorial dedicated to those who served during the Dieppe Raid, August 19, 1942 (original memorial constructed in 1992 as was preserved / enhanced as part of our project).
