Expansion and Renovation of La Capitale Financial’s Head Office

Implementing an integrated design process, WSP was engaged to expand La Capitale Financial Group’s headquarters in Quebec City.

This expansion included designing a LEED® Gold certified, Class-A, Prestige Category, 10-storey building in the entryway of Old Quebec with “old meets new” appeal. The project also included adding parking for approximately 250 spaces, vehicle ramps, a landing stage and a loading bay for trucks.

  • The client achieved LEED Gold certification for this building in 2014, making La Capitale the first and only private owner in Quebec, at the time, to own two buildings with this prestigious level of certification.
  • La Capitale’s vision was to give Quebec a modern building with a heritage flair in celebration of the province’s 400 anniversary. To achieve this goal, team incorporated stones from Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, the very same found in the Parliament Building in Quebec.
  • The project was carried out in a high traffic, urbanized district where there is a great deal of activity. As a result, special precautions and measures were put in place so as to limit the impacts of the work on the community.
