Iqaluit International Airport

 
  • Retained to design the Explosive Detection System (EDS) solution and manage its deployment at the airport.
  • Design addressed the Federal Government’s decision to enhance security screening processes at designated Canadian Airports, with scheduled passenger service, through the introduction of EDS technology.
  • Preliminary work included a design brief, and a comprehensive engineering report required for approval, which served to identify items such as impacts on building structure, layout, construction staging and space planning for relocation of airline offices, staff and cargo operational areas.
  • New baggage system was designed and installed without disrupting current operational efficiencies, and included a shortened tracking zone, fitting the entire EDS system into a compact area.
