Route 1 Gateway

The $540-million P3 New Brunswick highway project improves the transportation efficiency and safety in the region.

 
  • Engineering lead to Dexter Developer General Partnership (Dexter Construction) for Route 1, consisting of 55 km of new four-lane construction and selected upgrades in the 235 km existing four-lane section.
  • Design deliverables supported Dexter Construction’s automated grade controlled construction equipment, one of the largest construction projects implementing such a technique in North America.
  • Highway upgrades and installation of 104 km of wildlife fencing paralleling the highway will enhance the safe movement of commuters while protecting the lives of animals.
  • Creation of a sustainable multimodal transportation system connecting Atlantic Canada with the Eastern United States will boost economic growth by enhancing this key trade corridor.
