Sheridan Creek

Rehabilitated a 1.1 km section of Sheridan Creek.

  • WSP carried out a fluvial geomorphological assessment of the watercourse, and accounted for the natural morphological tendencies of the watercourse in the design.
  • Due to past channelization and construction of concrete drop structures along the reach, softer natural channel design techniques could not be used.
  • Fish habitat was preserved by maintaining existing pools at the drop structures.
  • Due to the high turbulence at the drops, armourstone was used for bank stabilization, while vegetated riverstone was used along reaches where velocities were low enough to permit the softer treatment.
