Investing in communities where we live, work and play

All success stories trace back to the celebration of community. From increased potential for individual success to exceeding expectations: together, reaching farther is easier. WSP is proud to support initiatives of employees who strive to better their communities at home and abroad.

We celebrated Canada’s rich and diverse heritage by supporting the Alberta Zirka Ukrainian Performers who actively bridge cultures and generations through traditional Ukrainian dance and music. WSP’s contribution allowed the performing arts group to upgrade their much-needed costume wardrobe, essential to their performances.

In order to encourage female representation in competitive mountain sports, WSP supported the establishment of Prairie Girls Racing (PGR). PGR equips women mountain bikers with the training and confidence to race competitively.

Last March, WSP was pleased to support Tristan Mullin’s deep-rooted passion for soccer. The Midfielder for Red Deer’s Renegades travelled with his competitive soccer team to Spain for 10 days during which he watched a live soccer match, played against local Spanish teams in exhibition matches, and trained with Spain’s National Team coaches.

Through a charity organization, The True North Helping Hands, WSP built classrooms and playgrounds in El Zorrillo, Mexico. By supplying the school with learning materials for the classroom, we were able to sow the seeds of learning in students so that they can aspire to dream bigger and reach farther.

WSP also helped fund lunch supplies in order to ensure preschool-aged children in low-income communities in Calgary were given a proper meal during the summer break, often the only meal they have that day. The EDGE Program is entirely run by volunteers.

Positively impacting our communities is at the core of our business. WSP remains focused on its initiatives to invest in the communities where we live, work and play.
