Conventional Oil & Gas Team Awarded Musreau III Gas Plant!

In the past few years, WSP’s Conventional Oil & Gas group has established a solid relationship with our long-time client and continues to cultivate a partnership in support of their constructions plans.

Our WSP (previously Focus Corporation) employees were involved in the Musreau I phase of the project several years back. Fully sanctioned in August of 2013, the detailed engineering for Musereau II (M2) proceeded in September of 2013 and was completed at the end of May 2014.  Since then, the Project Team has continued its support of the facility’s construction and commissioning activities; including M2’s start-up on December 12th of this year.

Exceeding expectations

“Driven by tight deadlines and out of sequence engineering, we established a Risk Management Plan to identify risks and mitigations as well as actions to address these items.  Project objectives were determined to be safety, schedule and budget.  Our team met project objectives and exceeded expectations. The client recognized the accomplishments that were achieved and organized an appreciation event in May 2014,” commented Wael Seoud, Manager of Projects.

“With the successful execution of our Musreau II facility nearing completion ahead of schedule and on budget, I am confident that Musreau III will bring another win for us as we will use our proven ‘assembly line’ approach to facility design and construction.” - Daily Oil Bulletin (DOB) News Release, November 28, 2014

Now, having reviewed ‘lessons learned’ with the client’s Project Team, WSP has been able to identify areas for improvement that will be incorporated into the overall Project Execution Model. These lessons will no doubt help to progress the team’s performance and efficiency in the execution of the Musreau III (M3) Gas Plant.

As of November 30, 2014, the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for M3 was finalized by our Project Team.  Since then, the client has fully sanctioned the M3 project and awarded the work to WSP.

"Our client’s decision to award M3 to Wael's team and our Conventional Oil and Gas BU speaks to our attention to client needs and successful project execution," said Rick Giammarino, Vice President, Conventional Oil & Gas.
