WSP MAKES UAE’S TOP 20 EMPLOYERS FOR 2016

Leading consultancy WSP has been ranked as the 11th ‘Top Companies to Work for in the UAE’ in 2016 by Great Place to Work in the UAE. Great Place to Work is a global research, training and consultancy firm that identifies the best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide.

The official list, announced last night at a ceremony in Dubai, is a ranking of the nation’s 20 best employers based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management practices.

Managing Director Tom Bower said they were all extremely proud that the business was once again being recognised as one of the top 20 Great Places to Work in the UAE, particularly coming only a year after the company undertook a major merger.

“The feedback from the GPTW survey was that we are a Great Place to Work because we welcome people to our community, into an environment where people truly work as one and take great pride in the projects we deliver together. We have an open plan working environment where everyone hot desks and there are no offices and we provide advanced technology to ensure people can collaborate, innovate and share easily and readily - whether it's face to face or virtually. It's this flexible and open approach that our people appreciate the most.”

To select the ‘Top Companies to Work for in the UAE’, Great Place to Work conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s proprietary Trust Index© survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication and development.

Commenting on the Top Companies list, Maha Zaatari, Managing Director of Great Place to Work in the UAE, said: “Congratulations to all 20 companies that made it onto our 2016 list. The expansion of the 2016 list is testament to the value UAE companies place on human capital development. There is no doubt that this year’s competition was the toughest since we introduced the annual benchmarking program six years ago. The top 20 list makers truly understand how investing in their workplace cultures leads to stronger business and people performance within their organizations.”
