Thesis at WSP

Many of our junior coworkers started their career at WSP by doing their thesis here. We are proud over the many theses that are written together with WSP. To the right you can find some of them.

We get a lot of applications regarding thesis and we want to make sure your thesis will get as good as possible. Therefor we only accept students when we have tutors available to fully focus on supporting you.  It is our group or department managers who decide if they have the possibility to tutor you during your thesis.

How to apply

If you are interested in writing your thesis with WSP, start by looking at our advertised subjects. If you cannot find a suiting subject you may also contact the manager within the division and the the city that you are interested in. You will reach the manager in charge if you call our front desk at +4610 -722 50 00. The manager can then provide you with more information regarding the possibilities for thesis.

We are happy to receive a lot of speculative applications regarding thesis. To make our job easier and to make sure your application reaches the right person we here provide some do’s and don’ts. Please consider the following:

  • Subject.  If you cannot find a suiting subject on our webpage we recommend that you present an idea of what you would like to write about. If you don’t know what to write about, please look around at our webpage and amongst the earlier theses done at WSP. Maybe there is a subject that you want to dig deeper into?
  • Interest. What are you interested in writing about? Within which division? We really like applications where it is clear what you are interested in.
  • Where and when? Specify where and during what period of time you are interested in writing your thesis.
  • Why WSP? Explain in your application why you want to write your thesis together with WSP.
  • Attach your CV and cover letter. It makes it easier for us if we know a little bit more about you when you apply.
  • Wording. It is important, especially in a consultant company, to be able to present yourself well in writing. Make sure your application is well formulated and correctly spelled.
  • Plan ahead. Make sure you apply early. We get a lot of applications, and it sometimes takes a while before we have time to go through them all.
  • Last, but not least…  Avoid ‘copy paste’. We understand that you want to save some time by sending the same application to many companies, but it very rarely gives any good results. Rather choose fewer companies and make sure the application you send to those companies is the best it can be.  General applications are complicated to take care of, not very funny to read, and will most likely not result in a cooperation for your thesis.
