Energy supply & renewables

Rising energy prices, increasing capacity demands and an ongoing need to meet carbon reduction requirements: we understand the demands of today’s energy market and tomorrow’s challenges. Our experience of both established and new energy technologies allows us to provide expert project management, design, modelling and consultancy to deliver renewable energy solutions throughout a project lifecycle.

Full lifecycle consultancy

We know how important it is to evolve when it comes to energy. We are firmly embedded in the future energy market and work across technologies from large scale grid connected future energy installations through to mid and smaller scale onsite energy supply solutions, to power specific developments and sites. We assist from prefeasibility right through to maintenance and decommissioning.

Onsite energy supply

We design and deliver energy supply projects which independently power property and regeneration schemes, industrial and manufacturing sites. We start by looking at objectives and modelling energy demand. We then conduct feasibility and resource assessments on the technology options, before planning and identifying infrastructure requirements and conducting impact assessments. Finally, we advise on the design and cost benefit of the proposed renewable technology strategy.

Financial investments

Renewable energy is not only providing our clients with carbon savings and improving their environmental performance, but is also providing a financial return. We provide technical advisory services on financial investments in renewable energy. This includes the small scale investment fund for the Green Investment Bank.

Strong experience

We have supported some exciting projects. From solar power plants in Southern Africa and Swedish hydro power plants, the plan for Masdar the new zero energy city in the UAE, through to supporting the 220km long 400kV overhead transmission line connecting renewable energy in the Highlands to central Scotland. We have even designed the zero-carbon methodology for Graylingwell new town, including the UK’s largest installation of domestic photovoltaics.
