Mouchel secures multi-million pound contract with Lincolnshire County Council

26th June – Mouchel has successfully secured a £4.5 million contract extension with Lincolnshire County Council to provide highways and transportation professional engineering services. This latest extension is the fifth that has been awarded to Mouchel since their first appointment in April 2010 and takes the contract to March 2020.

The team at Mouchel will continue to provide highways and transportation services, as well as transport planning, environment, drainage, and geotechnical services among others.

This contract builds on Mouchel’s successful collaboration with Lincolnshire County Council for which they’ve together secured over £70 million in external funding since start of the contract. Additionally, Mouchel’s close working relationship with delivery partners Kier and Dynniq has enabled the council to be one of the first two authorities in England to achieve top “Band 3” status under the Department for Transport’s (DfT) self-assessment process. This makes the council eligible to receive their full share of the Government’s Local Highways Maintenance Incentive Fund.

Among other achievements, the team at Mouchel has also recently managed and led a street lighting transformation programme that has allowed a saving in the authority’s electricity bill of over £1 million per annum.

Charles Ferrar, Regional Director at Mouchel said: “This award underlines our ability to form effective long term collaborative relationships with local authorities. Over the past seven years we have succeeded in delivering year on year continuous improvement and our whole team have consistently tried to focus on the needs of Lincolnshire. It is really pleasing that these efforts have borne results. This is an achievement the Mouchel team can be proud of and we look forward to continue working with the Lincolnshire County Council and the delivery partners.”

Mouchel, which was recently acquired by global professional services consultancy WSP, will be changing its name to WSP in July 2017.

Mouchel has successfully worked on high profile transport projects including construction and design services on the M1 Smart Motorways and on a major highways and transportation professional services contract for Leeds City Council, as well as managed Highways England’s National Traffic Information Service for seven years, and their telecommunications network as part of the National Roads Telecommunications Service - Specialist Consultancy contract.
