Mouchel’s land referencing business reaches over 100 people.

22 February - Mouchel's Land Referencing team, the largest in the country, has now expanded to over 100 experts for the first time.

As part of Mouchel, which was recently acquired by global professional services consultancy WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, the land referencing business has won work on schemes in a variety of sectors and successfully delivered a number of substantial infrastructure projects. This includes 20 years of continuous involvement on Thameslink, and the business is also providing expertise to other high profile schemes including the Tideway Tunnel, Manchester Metrolink, Crossrail, HS2, and a variety of electricity transmission, Highways England and TfL schemes.

As well as referencing, the land team also delivers an array of complementary land information management services, such as public consultation, stakeholder engagement, land access negotiation, 3D/VR modelling, database developments, GIS and Order management to support infrastructure and development projects.

Following recent rapid growth in London, the team is now seeing growth elsewhere in the UK, with a particularly strong presence in Manchester. Here a number of new starters from apprentices to senior consultants have joined. This balanced spread of expertise across the country strategically positions the business to support the Northern Powerhouse agenda, the Government’s incipient Industrial Strategy and the infrastructure investment that will follow and help facilitate HS2.

Ashley Parry Jones, head of land referencing (pictured) at Mouchel said: "What's really important isn’t the number but our increased capabilities, which allows us to secure the most exciting projects and continue to attract, develop and retain the best people. As part of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, we are now looking at new opportunities for further growth and diversification."
