Augusta Regional Airport Program/Construction Management

WSP USA provided program/construction management services to the Augusta Regional Airport as it modernized and built a new 97,000-square-foot terminal on the footprint of the existing terminal while continuing to operate out of existing facilities

The biggest challenge was holding to the construction schedule while ensuring full operation of the airport.

The $28 million project encompassed new terminal construction to completely replace the existing terminal building, including the temporary facilities needed for phased construction and demolition of the current terminal (including asbestos-containing material removal and underground storage tank removal). The terminal consists of approximately 1,000 square feet of basement, 80,500 square feet of ground floor space, and 13,000 square feet of second floor space. The work also included 8,000 square feet of curb front canopy, brick screen walls and enclosures, landscaping, and an interior and exterior signage and graphics program.

The new terminal opened to the public in December 2007, with project completion in August 2008.
