The second floor consists of two 10-bed ICUs, and the third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors house medical surgical beds. The new North Building houses a new state-of-the-art central sterile supply for the entire Hospital resulting in a 90% reduction in water use over their present equipment, four new orthopedic ORs with support spaces and an expansion of the Hospital dietary services. The North Building was designed for six floors.

In addition to the new buildings, approximately 30,000 sf of renovations took place in the immediate adjacencies. Renovated buildings included a large section of the existing ED, an expansion of the existing PACU, renovation of some existing ORs and renovation of some existing Medical Surgery bed space.

The project also included the expansion of the central chilled water plant from 1,600 tons to 2,900 tons and also triggered the expansion of the existing central medium pressure (100 psi) steam plant. The entire project provides a total of 217 beds.
