Ritz Carlton Residences

Constructed in 1887 to house M.H. de Young’s San Francisco Chronicle headquarters, the once commercial building’s façade has been fully restored to its original red-brick and stone beauty.

Overall, the 250,000 sf structure has been transformed into a luxury condominium and “fractional ownership” tower situated on the corner where Union Square meets the Financial District.

Billed as the first high-rise west of the Mississippi, the landmark building’s height has been increased by a recessed 12-story addition. The set-back allows for a residents-only terrace along Market Street. The terrace is adjoined by a grand 12th floor private Resident’s Lounge; one of many upscale property amenities.

The fully-serviced and furnished condominium units are comprised of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Also offered is a two-floor penthouse design. The “fractional ownership” units occupy the lower floors and are also comprised of one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations.  Sizes of the units range from 1,050 sf to an expansive 3,500 sf.
