The Intercontinental

The InterContinental New York Times Square contains over 600 rooms and suites that offer 360-degree panoramic views of Times Square and the Hudson River, with vistas stretching uptown to Central Park and downtown to the World Trade Center site.

Bullet 35-story concrete structure

The 35-story glass tower rises out of a six-story granite podium and features a total area of 450,000 gross square feet. The structure is comprised of cast in place, concrete flat plate floors supported by reinforced concrete columns and shear walls.

Due to the Ballroom space requirements, important column transfers occurred at the “Podium” section of the hotel and consisted of a group of steel girders encased in concrete, spanning approximate 50’-0”.
