Time Warner Center

At 748 feet tall, the 55-story twin tower Time Warner Center, is an icon of luxury in the New York skyline. It is a mixed-use residential, hotel, office, retail and entertainment development.

Part luxury condominiums, part Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the towers, each topped by a 60 ft tall lantern, rise from a podium base that contains a high-end shopping mall, Time Warner offices, large span studios, CNN broadcasting facilities, classroom facilities and parking. Nestled in the heart of the podium, “Jazz at Lincoln Center”, a 1200 seat concert hall,  is acoustically isolated from the rest of the building.

The structure occupies a total of 2.8 million sf of space on a 150,000 sf site. The complex, located at Columbus Circle, is a multi-functional structure composed of several “stacked” buildings each with its own space allocation requirements. The structural system was calculated to obtain a harmonious blending of the enormous variety of uses associated with the project.
