Best Practices to Aid Enterprise Supply Chain Data Collection Challenges
Presented by: Teresa Visto & Rosalie Castillo
Date/Time: Tues., April 25th, 2017 - 3:40 pm - 4:10 pm KST
Location: Room 305

Overview: Data collection for product compliance management in one’s supply chains remains to be a tough task in the midst of emerging global regulations. The many complexities of the supply chain, including finding ways of efficiently collecting data to the issuance of a company’s customer compliance certificate, has never been so challenging.  Today, each regulation has frequent updates parallel to products that are reaching end of life and entering the new product development stage. The struggle is real for manufacturers, subcontractors and distributors in coping with this expanding compliance requirement. During this session, we will review reasons why companies should consider outsourcing their business processes for product compliance, what is happening during each stage of the compliance data collection process, and how a company can utilize a product lifecycle management (PLM) system to collect and process FMD data from a supplier to determine product compliance against environmental regulations and directives. Conflict Minerals: The Real Meaning of Due Diligence and the Advocacy
Presented by: Teresa Visto
Date/Time: Tues., April 25th, 2017 - 4:40 pm - 5:10 pm KST
Location: Room 305

Overview: The electronics industry has accounted for a large percentage of SD filers over the last several years.  From 2013 through 2015, these filers have shown considerable improvements year over year. With industry pressures rising for smelters or refiners to be conflict-free, studies have been conducted to analyze how companies are implementing the necessary measures and how serious they are to being in compliance with this law.  Due diligence does not end in the RCOI process. It requires further analysis to check the risks and the corresponding steps that a filer has to take to fulfill the true meaning of due diligence and this session will describe what due diligence means in the real world of the Conflict Minerals law.
