Buildings Managing Director: Christian Agulles, PE, LEED AP

Christian Agulles, PE, LEED® AP, has assumed the role of Managing Director of WSP's Washington, D.C. office. He has taken over the role from Milton Iriarte, PE, LEED AP. Mr. Iriarte, who has made great contributions toward the success of the D.C. Metro office over the past several years, will be moving into private consultancy. Mr. Agulles comes to Washington, D.C. with more than 17 years of experience at WSP, having held positions in the firm’s Las Vegas, New York and San Francisco offices.


A mechanical engineer by trade since graduating cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology in 1993, Mr. Agulles specializes in the conceptual design of innovative and energy-efficient heating, ventilation, air conditioning and building controls systems. He has been responsible for the analysis, design and specification of mechanical systems for many large-scale and complex building types, including government, commercial mixed-use, corporate headquarters, retail, entertainment, gaming, hospitality, high-rise residential, sports arenas and stadiums.

“The D.C. Metro area is a vital hub for our MEP practice,” says David Cooper, PE, LEED® AP BD+C, President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP. “Christian’s leadership experience and particular mastery in this area makes him ideally suited to the managing director position.”

Mr. Agulles has registrations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, California, Arizona, and Nevada.
