Is DOT Compliance an EHS Issue?

WSP’s Brooke Dillon recently published an article, ‘Is DOT Compliance an EHS Issue?’, in The Auditing Roundtable’s June 2013 Newsletter. The article describes a few scenarios where organizations have overlooked hazardous materials (hazmat) transportation compliance as a business risk and provides guidelines for establishing a formalized hazmat transportation management system.

Ms. Dillon is a Technical Manager for the Environmental service line at WSP USA. She is a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) and brings more than 12 years of experience managing and conducting a variety of environmental services projects including environmental and hazardous materials compliance auditing and compliance support, merger and acquisition due diligence, and environmental investigations for WSP’s clients. Her compliance and due diligence experience includes projects in the construction materials, electronics and electronic equipment manufacturing, lawn and garden equipment manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, beverage and entertainment, household appliances, medical devices, telecommunications, waste management, financial and other sectors.
