Smith Carter USA Officially Rebrands to WSP

NEW YORK CITY AND ATLANTA – The Atlanta office of Smith Carter, an internationally recognized leader in containment laboratory design, has officially rebranded as WSP, announces David Cooper, PE, LEED AP BD+C, WSP’s president and CEO in the USA region.

Although Smith Carter has been a part of WSP since 2012, the name change reflects the Atlanta-based firm’s full integration into the engineering design and environmental consultancy, which is headquartered in New York City.

“This rebranding underscores the expanded range of services and geographic reach we now provide as a large, multidisciplinary firm, but our leadership structure and staff remain the same,” says principal and director Leslie Gartner, who also heads WSP’s Science & Technology practice in the USA.  “Our clients can count on the unwavering commitment to quality, collaboration, innovation, and the highest standards of service for which Smith Carter is known.”

Founded in 1947, Smith Carter works with government, institutional and private-sector clients on all types of complex projects, with a particular specialization in the design of healthcare and research environments.

“The rebranding also reflects WSP’s enhanced depth of expertise in the science and technology arena,” says Mr. Cooper.  “When Smith Carter became part of WSP, our science and technology capabilities grew exponentially.  We are now well equipped to take on the most challenging projects in high-performance laboratory design.”

Headquartered in New York City, WSP in the USA has more than 1,050 staff members in 35 offices across the U.S. Globally, WSP is a leading engineering design and environmental consultancy with approximately 17,000 employees working in more than 300 offices spanning 30 countries.  For more information, please see www.wspgroup.com/usa.
