Regulatory Alert: EPA’s Waters of the United States Rule

The Environmental team published a Regulatory Alert on the recent joint announcement from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) regarding the final rule that redefines the geographic scope of “waters of the United States” protected under the federal Clean Water Act (CWA).

The EPA reports that the final rule will ensure waters protected under the CWA are more precisely defined, more predictably determined, and easier for businesses and industry to understand. The rule is effective 60 days following publication in the Federal Register, which has yet to occur. Download the alert.
