WSP | PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF TRANSPORTATION AT OHIO TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING CONFERENCE

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services firm, will explore the future of transportation at the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference on October 27 and 28 in Columbus, Ohio.

 

COLUMBUS, OH – WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services firm, will explore the future of transportation at the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference on October 27 and 28 in Columbus, Ohio.

Seven WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff technical specialists, along with two community officials, will address such topics as women leading large capital programs, grant writing, transit-oriented development in Ohio, and innovations being employed on construction of the new George V. Voinovich Bridge.

“The Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference is intended to enable state, municipal and community officials and the engineering community to exchange ideas and report on best practices,” said Jeff Lechak, Cleveland area manager at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff . “We are pleased to be playing a key role in a conference that promises to improve the planning and delivery of future transportation programs.”

The WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff technical sessions include:

  • Women Leading Large Programs -- Sallye Perrin, WSP | Parsons Brinkerhoff’s director of strategic sales, will draw on her extensive experience in managing large projects to discuss women leading large capital and construction programs, on Tuesday, October 27th at 8:00 am.
  • Grant Writing -- Tracey Nixon, a transportation planner and economist, will explore the grant-writing process, on Tuesday, October 27th at 1:00 pm.
  • Transit Oriented Development -- Tim Rosenberger, principal technical specialist, and Maribeth Feke of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA), will discuss a study that analyzed options for three RTA stations and recommended transit-oriented development to take advantage of anticipated development in the areas surrounding the stations; Nancy Lyon Stadler, a senior principal engineer, and Joyce Braverman of the City of Shaker Heights, will discuss the Warrensville/Van Aken Station Area Plan, which is expected to integrate transit and development to revitalize the Van Aken community, on Tuesday, October 27th at 3:00 pm.
  • George V. Voinovich Bridge -- Jeff Lechak, Cleveland area manager, Jane Jordan, senior engineering manager and Michael Lea, project engineer, will discuss how the collaborative efforts of the Ohio DOT, designers, contractor and independent quality firm improved the quality of construction on the George V. Voinovich Bridge project, on Wednesday, October 28th at 8:30 am.

The Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and The Ohio State University, will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
