Bridge Replacement Designed in Jefferson County, PA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 10-0 has awarded a contract to WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for the final design of the Lanes Mills Bridge in Snyder Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

 

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 10-0 has awarded a contract to WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for the final design of the Lanes Mills Bridge in Snyder Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

The Lanes Mills Bridge, which carries SR 1008 over Rattlesnake Run in Snyder Township, is a single span concrete T-beam structure. The replacement bridge will be a composite, galvanized steel multi I-beam structure with integral abutments.

As the prime consultant, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff will complete final design of the new bridge, and provide consulting services during construction.  In addition to the structure replacement, the project entails approach roadway reconstruction; development of a traffic control plan; field survey; utility coordination; and environmental permitting and geotechnical engineering.

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2017, and is anticipated to take one construction season.
