WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff to Present at WTS Annual Conference in Austin

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization, will participate in several panel discussions related to transportation technology trends and women in the transportation industry workplace during the WTS International Annual Conference, May 18-20 in Austin, Texas.

 

AUSTIN, TX – WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization, will participate in several panel discussions related to transportation technology trends and women in the transportation industry workplace during the WTS International Annual Conference, May 18-20 in Austin, Texas.

Founded in 1977, WTS International is dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women.

Kelly will be part of a keynote panel, Getting a Seat at the Table, on May 20 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. The session will provide strategies for how women can be considered for the boards of public and private organizations, including those pertaining to pensions, redevelopment, transportation, and utilities.

Paula Hammond, senior vice president and national transportation market leader, will participate in a keynote panel, Insights and Experiences: Inspirational Women Leaders in Transportation, on May 19 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. The panelists will share their experiences in executive positions at state and regional departments of transportation and offer guidance for women seeking to join the leadership of transportation agencies.

Lauren Isaac, manager of sustainable transportation, will be on a panel dedicated to Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Technology—Policy and Practice on May 20 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The session will address the radical transformation now under way with the introduction of connected and autonomous vehicles into transportation systems around the globe. The panel will also explore policy options that will be needed to shift to this new transportation and how consumer acceptance is likely to play out as more autonomous and connected vehicles appear on the nation’s roadways.

Tiffany Batac, manager of the asset management service area, will be part of a panel discussion, What’s the Future of Paycheck Fairness? on May 19 from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. The discussion will address bias in the workplace as it relates to wage discrimination, presenting data on gender pay inequality and providing points of action that resulted in successful gender pay legislation in California that would be applicable nationally.

Isaac and Batac will participate in WTS Glass Ceiling Committee on Perspectives from the Bay Area and Washington D.C. Regions on May 19 from 2:15 - 3:15 p.m. The session will address baseline studies conducted by the WTS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter to better understand the current status of women in the San Francisco Bay Area transportation industry as well as studies being undertaken in the Greater Washington, D.C. region to evaluate progress in this area.
