ccrd, a WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff company, has announced several promotions and new hires in its Richmond, Virginia office. David Wright has been promoted to senior vice president, Adam Sims and Mike Lang have been named associates, and Falin Jones along with Matthew Seawell have joined the firm as Electrical and Mechanical Designers.

 

RICHMOND, VA —ccrd, a WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff company, has announced several promotions and new hires in its Richmond, Virginia office. David Wright has been promoted to senior vice president, Adam Sims and Mike Lang have been named associates, and Falin Jones along with Matthew Seawell have joined the firm as Electrical and Mechanical Designers.

Established in 1998, ccrd’s Richmond office provides comprehensive mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection/low voltage engineering services for hospitals, hotels, institutional and commercial facilities. Some of the firm’s recent projects include Children’s Hospital of Richmond Pavilion at VCU, Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center, VCU Health System Critical Care Tower, and Valley Health Winchester Medical North Tower Expansion. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services firm, acquired ccrd in 2014.

David Wright, who serves as co-manager of the Richmond office, has been with the firm since 1999. His areas of expertise includes over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry from working as an electrical contractor, designing utility systems and leading the office’s design on healthcare facilities. He most recently served as the principal-in-charge and project manager of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond Pavilion.

An electrical engineer with strong technical abilities, Mr. Sims has been with ccrd since 2007. He recently started taking on project management responsibilities, including electrical design for the north tower expansion for Valley Health.

Mr. Lang, who joined the firm in 2013, leads the building commissioning efforts for the Richmond office. Some of his recent projects include University Medical Center, Parkland Hospital, and University of Miami Bascon Palmer Eye Institute. In 2015 he began taking a more active role in business development, both retaining existing business and bringing in new clients for commissioning and engineering projects.

A recent graduate of Hampton University with a degree in electrical engineering, Mr.  Jones interned for three years as an engineer trainee at SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic. He now be will be involved with electrical renovations and construction at hospitals, hotels and commercial buildings in the Richmond area.

Mr. Seawell graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in project management for a Northern Virginia general contractor where he specialized in health care construction. He will now work as a mechanical designer in the firm’s Richmond office on a variety of project types.
