WSP Experts to Present at P3 Higher Education Conference

Experts from WSP, a global engineering and professional services consultancy, will make presentations on the use of public-private partnerships in higher education as part of the P3 Higher Education Summit, taking place on October 2nd and 3rd in San Diego, California.

 

SAN DIEGO, CA – Experts from WSP, a global engineering and professional services consultancy, will make presentations on the use of public-private partnerships in higher education as part of the P3 Higher Education Summit, taking place on October 2nd and 3rd in San Diego, California.

Public-private partnerships (P3s) are delivering critical infrastructure for colleges and universities across the country, providing higher education institutions with new tools to address their infrastructure challenges. The P3 Higher Education Summit will focus on P3 education, project management, procurement, financing and networking for owners, industry, education leaders and a mix of facility planning, finance and business professionals engaged in public-private partnerships.

  • Using P3s to Transform Energy Management on Campus – Terry Marcellus, principal consultant, alternative project delivery, advisory services and Bruce Rich, area construction manager, construction services will participate in a roundtable on Monday, October 2nd at 11:30 a.m. The roundtable will focus on how energy cost, volatility, carbon impact and security of supply, leading public and private sector campuses are transforming their energy systems by deploying innovative technical solutions and contracting approaches.
  • Defining and Maximizing Value in a Public-Private Partnership This panel discussion organized by WSP with moderator Ken Beehler, consultant, alternative Project delivery, advisory services and Bruce Rich on Tuesday, October 3rd at 10:15 a.m. will address affording institutions the capability to maximize the benefits of their capital projects. Panel discussions will include clearly defining project requirements, properly allocating risk, and selecting and implementing a development structure that best fits their goals and provides for seamless project completion. In many P3 projects, stakeholders are often focused on the “public” or “private” aspects of a transaction. In this session, panelists will share their technical expertise in discussing the “partnership” elements of a successful deal. WSP presenters will be joined by individuals offering perspectives from both the developer and owner side of higher education P3s.
