A Swing of Beauty lights up this year’s Vivid Sydney Festival

A swing set designed by Fiona Venn WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Senior Lighting Designer in collaboration with NBRS + Partners Architects, is set to light up this year’s Vivid Festival in Sydney.

The installation entitled ‘Swing Glow’ consists of an illuminated double swing set that, according to Ms Venn, has been designed to react to its audience:

“Swing Glow responds to the playfulness of its users by creating ever-changing displays of light, colour and sound.”

“As the swings soar into the air, they create trajectories of coloured light set against the backdrop of the harbour. When they are static, the enchantment continues with LED lighting set to different parts of the light spectrum.”

While collaborating across social art projects gives our Vision Design team a chance to flex their creative muscle, the practical application of such lighting expertise can also be seen in current projects including Newcastle Courthouse, the Australian Embassy, Bangkok and across 8 new stations on the Sydney Metro network.

When:             22 May - 8 June 2015, nightly from 6.00pm – 12.00pm

Where:            First Fleet Park, The Rocks, Sydney
