Balancing access and community needs at the world’s busiest ports

Our Port and Marine Division Director Blair Garcia is visiting Australia to share his views and technical expertise on port and intermodal facilities.

Today in Sydney rail professionals will hear first-hand the latest thinking and technical solutions used to upgrade one of the world’s largest and busiest port complexes, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach as well as their intermodal rail connections.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Port and Marine Division Director (USA) Blair Garcia is visiting Australia to share this expertise.

‘These projects involve the development of semi-automated container terminals and the modernisation of an off dock intermodal terminal.

‘To make all this happen it is important to strike a balance between the needs of all stakeholders, especially on projects of this size,’ said Mr Garcia.
