Moving transport infrastructure forward in Western Australia

A number of recent technical appointments within our transport team in Western Australia (WA) leave us well-placed to support key projects in the state.

This follows our recent appointment to the Main Roads Western Australia (WA) Panel for Engineering and Technical Services Associated with Road and Bridge Design. Our local team is also delivering the Perth Freight Link Section 2 Tender Design.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s WA Client Director for Transport Phil Nicholls said the growth across our team and the injection of added capability would challenge the local status quo and boost the road industry.

‘With Perth’s population set to double by 2050, we recognise the challenges Main Roads faces to effectively manage the road network. We offer a fresh approach to infrastructure improvements, maintenance and traffic management.

‘We are committed to strengthening the local economy and believe that harnessing global talent is critical to creating a more sustainable WA.

‘We have adopted a relationship-based approach to delivery. We are excited to work in collaboration with Main Roads and other consultants, to change the future of transport in the region,’ concluded Mr Nicholls.

With significant expertise across safety management and network congestion mitigation, our recent senior appointments include:

  • Principal Civil Engineer, Tim Cawley – over 18 years’ experience including acting as Design Manager for the $65 million Dampier Highway Duplication.
  • Principal Designer, Simon Pattenden – 25 years of experience across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  From 2008 to 2015, Simon was the Principal Technical Officer for Gateway WA Alliance.
  • Senior Transport Modeller, Philippa Greenwood – highly skilled in the latest software, Philippa has modelled significant WA public transport hubs including the New Perth Stadium.

It is anticipated that our local transport capability will continue to grow over the next number of months as a direct result of client and project requirements.
