Mr Xerri Young Achiever and FutureNet Business Leader

Today in Sydney at the 2015 Permanent Way Institution (PWI) Annual Convention, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Rail Engineer Mark Xerri formally accepted the PWI Young Achiever of the Year award. This follows on from Mr Xerri’s win last week as part of the FutureNet Business Leaders team at the Consult Australia awards.

Speaking from the convention Mr Xerri said it was an exciting time to be a young engineer.

‘Australia is experiencing a rail renaissance and it’s our role as young engineers to help make large projects future-ready.

‘For the PWI Young Achiever award my paper focused on improving the efficiency of the existing rail asset, driving savings for operators and maintainers, and improving service to customers.

‘This was based on the work completed for the Inner West Extension speed review project,’ said Mr Xerri.

For the Consult Australia award, Mr Xerri was part of the winning FutureNet Business Leaders team, which contributed a new vision for Liverpool.

The ‘Live Liverpool’ team created a transport air hub, gateway towers, a Western Sydney Music Bowl, and new community, cultural and commercial facilities.
