‘Speed interviews’ to source 40 aspiring engineers and scientists

This Thursday in Sydney WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff will ‘speed interview’ university students vying for one of 40 internship places with the global engineering consultancy.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Group Talent Acquisition Executive Siobhan Savage explained this year the company’s internship program was the largest of its kind.

‘We are hiring 40 undergraduate students for three months’ paid work experience in 2015, 2016 and potentially a graduate role in 2017.

‘On Thursday students will experience a new way of interviewing – ‘speed interviewing’ – which involves a series of short conversations with industry leaders, professors and as well as current employees.

‘To get an interview students had to impress the recruitment team with a ‘selfie,’ its relevance to their application and their resume.

‘We had a tremendous response with over 180 applications.

‘Now we face the challenge of selecting 20 young men and 20 young women at interview to join the program,’ said Ms Savage.
