Brad Allsopp leads the way in performance optimisation for materials handling facilities

At the 12th Annual Bulk Materials Handling Conference & Exhibition in Perth this Wednesday, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Materials Handling Executive, Brad Allsopp, will speak on the business of optimising the performance of operating materials handling facilities in the current climate.

Mr Allsopp’s presentation, Driving Operational Efficiency in Materials Handling Plants, discusses the challenges faced by owners and operators of materials handling facilities with declining commodity prices and shortage of capital.

Mr Allsopp said, ‘Owners and operators are under extreme pressure to reduce cost, increase performance and get the most from their capital employed, all while complying with tightening rules and regulations and operating in harmony with the community.

‘It’s no small task. Fixed plant operators need to consider how they assess performance and determine strategies for improvement from a realistic vantage point to drive operational efficiency and excellence, often having to be funded from savings in the same budget year.

The presentation will explore challenges for plant operators and strategies for pushing short-term return to its peak without impacting on long-term value, as well as the importance of workplace safety and ongoing relationships with the community.
