Roy Hill project wins trio of Engineering Excellence awards

Roy Hill Holdings and WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff won three prestigious awards at Saturday night’s Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Awards (AEEA) in Western Australia.

The landmark mining project was recognized through the Engineers Australia WA Engineering Distinction Award 2016; the Australian Excellence Award for Project Management and the Australian Excellence Award for Resource Development

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Managing Director Property, Environment & Resources Andrew Mather commented on the award-win:

‘As the Project Management Contractor for the Roy Hill Project, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is proud to see the team receive further award recognition following on from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project of The Year Award 2016 and the 2016 Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) Railway Project Award win.

‘It is gratifying to see such a technically-challenging development recognized for its project management expertise which saw the $10 billion mega-iron ore project delivered to time, budget and safety specifications across a combined contractor workforce of more than 37,000 people during construction.

‘Since 2013 we have shared our global project management skills and experience to support Hancock Prospecting and Roy Hill Holdings in the delivery of this complex, multidisciplinary project.

‘The combined Roy Hill team should be rightfully proud of this signature project and its impressive award-win tally’ concluded Mr Mather.
