Three global rail specialists join our transport team

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff continues to grow its national rail team with the appointment of three senior rail specialists.

  • Bruce Maney joins the firm as Metro Design Director, Australia New Zealand
  • Doug Williamson is the new Rail Team Manager, Victoria
  • Craig Squires is Principal Project Manager, Western Australia.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff General Manager for Rail, Mike Jenkins, explained all three specialists have an in-depth understanding of rail design and delivery.

‘With these appointments we are expanding our capabilities and opportunity to prepare innovative design solutions for our clients.

‘Their expertise is valuable for projects like Melbourne Metro, Forrestfield Airport Link, and Cross River Rail,’ said Mr Jenkins.

Mr Maney has over 30 years’ experience, the majority of which is on international, multidisciplinary major infrastructure projects. Mr Maney has unique underground station and soft ground tunnelling experience from his work as Construction Design Director and RedLine Project Manager for the Dubai Metro Project.

With almost 20 years of experience, Mr Williamson’s brings to the team strong major rail project delivery experience. From strategic studies through to construction projects, his career highlights have included large-scale projects such as the Crossrail programme in London, and the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Expansion in WA.  He replaces Jamie Green who has been appointed as Design Manager on the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossings Removals project.  

Mr Squires has spent the last 12 years of his career in Western Australia working on major rail projects for public and private-sector clients. During this time he has held key leadership roles on engineering and EPCM projects covering the full project lifecycle. Notably he was an EPCM rail manager for BHP BIO’s Rapid Growth projects which managed rail project delivery work to support increases in iron ore production.

Mr Williamson and Mr Maney commenced their roles with the firm in April 2016, while Mr Squires joined the company in May 2016.
