Finance Manager, Christelle Oliver juggles food, wine, travel and her MBA

Finance Manager – Christelle Oliver was drawn to the business in 2013 because of its size and a desired opportunity to develop a career within the commercial sector.

 

Working in the Sydney office, Christelle says ‘I’ve learnt that one constantly needs to innovate in an Enterprise/support role to stay ahead and to provide value to the business. Development-wise, my role as a manager goes beyond numbers. I’m a key figure in reporting our results to both local and global offices. I have also helped develop and improve business processes, which has carried me into being the Finance lead for our new resource management system in Australia and New Zealand.’

She continues, ‘I’ve been given opportunities to develop my skills and broaden my network right from the very start.’

Since becoming team manager, Christelle has found the opportunity to mentor graduates through professional qualifications, a truly rewarding experience. ‘I enjoy encouraging their learning of both technical and people skills, and to see them becoming more and more independent is rewarding for both them and myself.’

For Christelle, her academic achievements are major accomplishments, she has completed her Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification and is currently studying a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

A self-proclaimed ‘foodie’, Christelle mixes her passion for authentic Parisian dishes with a love for travel and photography.

‘My favourite cuisine is French. I love the Parisian culture, the wines, the arts, the buildings and everything in between. I would say my next favourite place is Morocco. It’s an amazing place with an abundance of culture and authentic cuisines.’
