Renowned Project Executive to Lead Construction Services on Woolgoolga to Ballina

WSP has appointed David Williams to lead its ongoing involvement on Australia’s largest regional infrastructure project.


Mr Williams takes on the role of Construction Services Director for Pacific Complete, the joint venture Delivery Partner responsible for the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade.

Mr Williams was most recently the Lead Director for WSP in Qatar, where he oversaw all projects relating to design, construction supervision and project management for infrastructure development of the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and the 2030 master plan. His career spans 35 years in project and program delivery as well as business management for a range of roads, highways, rail schemes, properties and building, power and water and environmental services.

David Stuart-Watt, WSP’s Client Director Transport ANZ says, “David brings a breadth of experience from projects across Europe, the Far East and Middle East, in addition to the United Kingdom where he played a key role in the M6 Widening and Improvements and the Western Orbital Route.

“With the management of the detailed design on Woolgoolga to Ballina now complete and construction works ramping up on site, David is well-positioned to lead us into the next phase of this complex project. His expertise in the delivery of large scale transport infrastructure across all stages – from design to procurement, contract administration and construction – will help us optimise our approach to project delivery.”

Mr Williams commences his role on 15 September 2017.
