WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has welcomed Risto Jounila, Technical Director to its Transport team.

Charlie Jewkes, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s ANZ Director for Transport commented that Mr Jounila’s appointment aligns with the firm’s strategic goals to build its smart cities capability in the region.

‘Risto’s appointment will see growth of our local smart cities capability, enabling our teams to gain insight into how transport infrastructure can be integrated within a modern cityscape.

‘Most recently he led the feasibility design for the Raide-Jokeri light rail project, Helsinki’s first orbital mass-transit project, and a landmark multidisciplinary highway corridor study in the City of Jyvaskyla.

‘His international experience will enable us to implement best practice learned across the globe into upcoming projects such as Auckland’s Transport Networks for Future Growth.’

Mr Jounila has relocated to our Auckland business after 21 years working in the firm’s Helsinki office.
