STRENGTHENING WSP’S PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY

As the scale of funding for major projects continues to increase, so does governance, approvals, funding models and related assurance processes.

 

WSP has appointed Giles Swindley as Section Executive for Project and Construction Management for Australia and New Zealand.   

WSP’s General Manager for Major Projects, Kate Gilchrist described his appointment as “a welcomed addition”, she sees it as a way to improve levels of service for clients in a changing market.

Drawing on his 28 years of major project experience, Mr Swindley will focus on strengthening our project and construction management capability which will further enhance our offering to clients in areas such as assurance, management and inspection, design and construction verification, and contract administration.

“Mr Swindley is well-versed in all types of procurement and project delivery approaches. His strong client relationships, contractor experience and proven capability to create, develop and lead high-performing businesses will enable us to add greater value to clients and communities,” concluded Ms Gilchrist.

Mr Swindley commenced in the role in July and is supporting WSP’s Independent Reviewer role on the West Gate Tunnel project in Victoria and is the Project Verifier for the Northern Beaches Hospital Road Enhancement project in Sydney.

Prior to this role, Mr Swindley led the bidding and delivery of various large scale infrastructure projects including Regional Rail Link and M80 projects in Victoria, Seaford Rail in South Australia and several projects across New South Wales including the first major WestConnex project in Sydney.
