Shaping Improved Urban Environments with Don Pollock

With the constant movement of people into urban environments, careful planning and design is required to ensure liveability with scalability in our cities. At WSP, helping to create cities and environments that enable thriving communities is the reason we exist.

To help grow our planning capability, we welcome Don Pollock’s appointment as Technical Executive, Planning who will be based in WSP’s Melbourne office. Mr Pollock, a former President and current Fellow of the Victoria division of the Planning Institute of Australia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, acquired over 35 years working on large scale urban development projects, locally and across the world.

Director of Environment, ANZ, WSP Jenny MacMahon says, “Don’s depth of experience and work on significant large scale urban development projects will be instrumental in strengthening our technical and management expertise.”

Most recently Mr Pollock worked as a consultant to the Arriyadh Development Authority in Saudi Arabia to implement the metropolitan development strategy MEDSTAR. In previous roles, he has worked on development projects across the private and public sector in the middle east and locally across numerous regional Victorian centres. Some key projects he has managed include: tourism infrastructure development plans for the State of Victoria and the Sultanate of Oman; strategic plans for the regional centres of Ballarat, Bendigo and Warrnambool; and urban design guidelines for Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. Mr Pollock’s global expertise, along with a strong focus on Victoria, will be invaluable to our Environment team.
