WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff releases its Global Strategic Plan for 2015-2018

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s 2015-2018 global strategic plan was presented on May 21, 2015 at the firm’s annual shareholders meeting, held in Montreal, Canada.

One of the measureable objectives of the 2013-2015 global strategic plan was to reach 20,000 employees and $2.3 billion CAD in net revenues. Parsons Brinckerhoff also had its own strategic plan, and now the merging of the two organizations has meant a joint leap forward (we are now 31,000 employees) and created the need for a new strategic plan for the combined organization.

The 2015-2018 strategic plan aims to support our vision to "always be the first choice for clients, partners and employees". It is based on four fundamental principles which are the basis of our continued success - employees, clients, operational excellence and expertise.

The plan includes growth strategies related to acquisitions and organic growth:

Acquisitions
We will further develop our geographic footprint and enhance our market sector offering through a disciplined and structured M&A strategy which should increase value for clients. This strategy will focus our efforts on locally consolidating and developing our core market segments in building, transportation, infrastructure and environment. We will also expand our resource-based expertise by following existing clients globally and by leveraging our presence in regions which have mining and oil and gas opportunities. Finally, we want to enhance our global reputation in the industrial and energy sector, through leveraging our technical centers of excellence worldwide.

Organic growth
We will strive to operate efficiently and effectively to achieve the highest standards of client service and project delivery and the highest quality, on time and on budget.

Strategic Initiatives
The coming together of WSP and Parsons Brinckerhoff has significantly enhanced our portfolio of technical capabilities and provides the opportunity to drive specific initiatives and deliver more strategic services. We have thus decided to grow our core value propositions by focusing on the following strategic initiatives:

  • Develop more front-end advisory services such as project/program management, advisory services in buildings sciences, as well as infrastructure and environment strategic consulting;
  • Globally leverage our capabilities in specific subsectors such as high-rise building, rail, aviation, healthcare, large urban centers and sustainability; and
  • Capitalize on our strategic relationships with our clients to develop and invest in infrastructure projects that require non-traditional funding, while avoiding exposure to construction risk.
