The new tower's design is unprecedented in terms of life safety and security. And, in addition to its iconic design, One World Trade Center provides a world-class model of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. It is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

The building features a 104-story steel-frame, concrete-core structure. The overall height commemorates the year the Declaration of Independence was signed, while the 1,368-foot roof height matches that of the original Twin Towers.

One World Trade Center marked the first time that a building in New York City used concrete with a compressive strength of 14,000psi. It is the first structure with specified dual requirements for both concrete strength and stiffness.

WSP USA is also providing structural engineering services for 2, 3 and 7 World Trade Center, as well as the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
